They slide into the water and sit in the sun

Human Impact

Humans hit turtles with their cars, and they are destroying their habitat. People kill them and collect their shells and they are used for commercial use. Pollution kills them, too. They also get caught in fishing gear.

Creative Exploration

A day as a Turtle

I wake up in the sun
Warm and happy
But I see a bird
And I ran away under the muddy water.
As the day moves forward, I stay put
Chilling in the sun
Then I go get some food
A fish or bug
Then I go back to the bank
And keep on chilling in the sun.
