Modern impacts include habitat loss from urbanization and agriculture, while paradoxically, suburban sprawl brings them closer to people. While hunting poses a mortality risk, human presence can act as a “shield,” reducing predator numbers and increasing turkey nesting success in certain areas. Humans take them in the month of November then from over hunting their population goes down.

Creative Exploration

I am a turkey. I avoid hunters during November. I have soft red, orange, and yellow feathers. I am fat and I run around insects, I get eaten during the month of November. When I get scared, I squat. I am the peacock of America. I only come out to dark colors like woods or the forest. I am camouflage during winter times.
