A Lot of water and acidic poorly drained soil. Uses photosynthesis.

Acts as a food source for many animals. (Deer, Squirrels, Racoons, Birds, Bees) 
 
Behavior 
Water Tupelos are often in abundance with other of the same spe 

Human Impact

Humans greatly impact the Water Tupelo in many ways. The Water Tupelo is used a lot for timber. The tree can be used to make plywood and hardwood pulp. With the spongy buttress from the tree, humans can make fishing floats and corks. Humans also consume Tupelo honey from the tree. The Water Tupelo can keep swamps clean from human pollution.

I see my friends of Tupelo

As for I’m in danger 
It’s not too long 
Before a goodbye song  
Are pristine trucks  
Soon to be cabin bunks 
From leaves of lush 
To piles of brush 
We once stood tall 
Now nothing at all
