Biological Overview

Habitat
Prothonotary warblers live and can be seen on coasts and shorelines. They can be found hanging around in the forest and in woodlands, freshwater and in savannas where it can be hot and dry.

Diet
The prothonotary warbler diet is insects, larvae, and spiders, they favor beetles, caterpillars, moths, and mayflies, while during migration and winter, they may also consume small mollusks, snails, fruit, and seeds.

Role in Ecosystem
To force a healthy rainforest and to ensure there is no waste.

Behavior
They leave their nest for 10-11 days and the males arrive on nesting grounds.

Human Impact

Urbanization has impacted the prothonotary warbler; deforestation has been caused to building gas stations, stores and houses. The prothonotary warbler has been forced to leave their habitat because the trees are their home, due to human spaced expansions.

Creative Exploration

I live in the forest where it’s wet and muddy. I’m like a small animal people barely see; you might have to look up to see, because I might be hiding in the trees. I could be right above your head where you would never see me.
