Biological Overview

Habitat
Small enclosed spaces and everywhere but Antarctica

Diet
Feeds off of fungi and tree roots

Role in Ecosystem
It acts as a unique parasitic plant in forests and ecosystems.

Behavior
Turns black when bruised or old.

Human Impact

This mushroom treats anxiety, pain, emotional trauma, and helps with other things too, causing it to be a very good medicinal plant for humans. It also acts as a vampire in the forest, sucking the life out of fungi and tree roots, so it makes humans try and pick it so they don’t kill off many trees.

Creative Exploration

I was swinging (as a monkey) through the trees. When I landed, I saw the two legs of a ghost pipe mushroom. I circled it around a stump in deep mushy soil, but then it tricked me and ran, so I climbed a tree and started chasing it. I got caught in its trap. I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I was tied to a tree surrounded by ghost pipe mushrooms. I learned my lesson: just because something looks small and weak doesn’t mean they’re not capable of big things.
