We have roast Canada Goose in the oven and we make stuffing with it– with the heart, the gizzard, the liver, onion, and bread, and celery. And most of the time, we’ll have mashed potatoes with it, and a green vegetable like broccoli. We also have shrimp macaroni salad, because where I am up north, there’s a shrimp fishery with trawling boats that go out in the North Atlantic, and so every year, every family gets a bag of shrimp free delivered to their door, so we always make a shrimp macaroni salad with it to go with our Christmas meal.
I also make a lot of banana bread at Christmas, because I give it away a lot. It’s easy to make, I just wrap it up in saran wrap, and I put a Christmas bow, and I give a lot, lot, lot of banana bread away at Christmas.
Also, when I was a kid, we used to have Christmas dinner with a family, and what I remember about the dessert there is they would make Christmas log, Yuletide log, I think it’s called, and I’ve never had it anywhere else than with that family, and I’ve never even made it myself. I used to love the icing and the little silver balls on it.
