My biggest challenge at CCU was leaving my mom and navigating a new environment without her. She is my biggest supporter, and not having her by my side through this process was a difficult adjustment. My roommate and best friend played a huge role in helping me get over the homesickness. She stepped in and made sure I knew I could always use her as my support system, and she was there for me. She helped me a ton, especially during times I was really missing home. Having that one person you can go to for anything is such a privilege, and now I can say I’m lucky to have a circle of those people.
