I remember going into our watermelon patch field and seeing the many different sizes and colors of them. My favorite memory would be watching my Dad, Mother, and older family members “bust open” the watermelon and then “getting the heart out” to enjoy next to the cotton field. The melons were warm, which is what I enjoy eating now. And spitting out the seeds (as far as we could) was fun to do. I grow my melons in my garden each year. I have seeds each year.
