Prompt: The Folklore you Create- If you were to create a Folklore character of myth about South Carolina, what would it be? What lesson would your story teach to future generations?

Angus Bibbs, the generic Sandman. He wears a suit and a tophat of shells and makes sure the sea is full every day by gathering tears from the grieving at night. He hopes that seeing the blue ocean of grief meet the skyline on the horizon reminds the suffering that hope itself always exists. He also hopes that seeing how much grief there is in the world inspires the world to be less cruel, though, of course, he doesn’t hold out hope for that, and instead transforms the worst of humanity into crabs, which are then caught and eaten. He hopes they are cooked fully and seasoned well. The lesson in the story is to think of others and try to have common decency, because you could get eaten one day. And also because of the potential for good that rests in most people (probably), but also don’t forget that Angus Bibbs would season you with Old Bay and turn you into a crabcake.
