It was my 60th birthday celebration. I was so captivated by the song “Glory,” as sung by John Legend and rapped by Common. I asked a friend of mine, who does miming, to create a routine for me and my guests to enjoy doing the event to the song “Glory.” She accepted the challenge with no questions asked. As she knew, “Glory” was very special to me. She came to the event guiding her husband, who had ALS in his motorized wheelchair, all smiles, as she always does. As she knew “Glory” was very special to me, she made a quick change into a dramatic outfit with a white face and all. With her first movement to the tune of “Glory,” she captivated me and my guests, as she knew “Glory” was very special to me. As the song ended and so did her routine, I could see tears in my guest’s eyes as well as mine, as she knew “Glory” was very special to me. I went over to thank her, who was now with her spouse, and I saw what appeared as a tear, even on his face, as he knew “Glory” was special to me. This was their last event together, as he passed away the very next year. That’s why “Glory” is still special to me.
