I’m conversing with a friend

Collection:

Prompt: Are there any benefits in conversations with others who do not share your viewpoints?  If yes, what are they?  If no, why not?

I’m conversing with a friend I have known for years. We disagreed but agreed years ago, not necessarily verbally, but because we love, toast, and know each of us has one another’s back, to tough lightly but move on to a place of engagement.

To me, that would be a benefit for not sharing – AGAIN.

On the other hand, when I don’t share otherwise it seems to me I’m the only person in a group that believes/things a certain way. I do not feel UP TO taking it on- “is this the ditch I want to die in.” I do share when I feel safe, person is listening genuinely.
