In the 1900’s it felt like Walterboro was dying. Employment was low and crime was high. Today it feels like the citizens are taking Walterboro back. This building itself has contributed to that. The old museum was in an old and cramped building. They took this old deserted building here and created a beautiful museum for collection. A commercial kitchen that has helped many businesses get started. A farmers market that local farmers and artisans can sell their wares. New businesses have come to Walterboro. Schools have improved.
