I’ve taken the Master Naturalist program, so we go to a different patch of woods every Friday. And last week it was Peachtree Rock. And tomorrow it’s going to be near Peak, South Carolina, to study fish in a creek.

I pack my GPS, a cooler with a sandwich and drink. Toilet paper in my pocket. A magnifying glass, binoculars, a hat, and a backpack to carry at all.
