Patti retired from IT 3 years ago and volunteers for her church. She has remained in a similar routine from when she was working sixty-hour workweeks. She wakes up at 6 am every day. She still does her makeup the same as she did when she was just a mom, wearing blue eyeliner and a light color blush. Which she has done at her wooden dining room table for as long as I have known her. She volunteers 20 hours per week at the church, and more hours at home doing the church scheduling.

After retiring, her and her husband moved to a house by the lake, bought a boat, and a travel trailer; something she has always wanted to do.  Though they are doing activities like fishing, biking, and hiking, she is still showing up in jeans and 2-inch heeled sandals, which she pretends doesn’t phase her. She takes the whole family on vacation every other year and spoils us on the holidays. She spends her weekends relaxing with her husband or driving to visit friends or family.
