My grandfather, Thomas Anderson, is someone who serves as a very important role model for me. His determination and how hard he works at everything he does is something I have always admired. He often tells me that he believes he has these qualities as a result of his time in the military and how mature it made him as a man.
For instance, he was watching the kids play cornhole in the front yard when he felt the desire to play as well. Despite being older and struggling to do certain tasks, he was determined to join in the game. As he started throwing the bags towards the board, they weren’t reaching far enough to earn him points in the game. This frustrated him, as he always denies being “too old” to accomplish something. So, he persistently stayed out by the cornhole boards, throwing over and over again until he could finally reach the board with each throw.
He felt like, at last, he dug deep within him to play the game like everyone else, and he was included.
