After high school, Joel knew that he wanted to go to college. The only issue is that he didn’t know how he was going to pay for it, so then he made the bold decision to join the National Guard. This took a lot of grit and determination from him to just sign up, but he did because he knows what he can get from it.
It was rough for him at the start to transition, as his day looked like waking up at 5 am every day or earlier, then making everyone go through brutal physical training throughout the whole day. On top of that, he was also in charge of many tasks and maintenance checks by his crew and was put in all types of situations you couldn’t even imagine. He ended up getting closer with the people in his platoon as well as his sergeant. Joel serves in the infantry in that community; he is a team player and has to protect. Doing this, Joel has built a ton of discipline; from this, he finished boot camp, becoming a way stronger person mentally and physically.
