I’m helping the little girl next door learn about herbs and gardens. So her name, the little girl next door, is Adelaide.  

I say Adelaide, hold this glass jar. Let us fill it up with herbs from my garden. Let us pick the plants that smell good. Here. Smell the rosemary, drop it in our jar. Smell the basil. I know it’s heavenly. It makes us feel good just smelling it. And oregano, drop the whole stem in. Now let’s pour in the olive oil. Cover up all our pretty plants in the oil. Now, set this jar on your sunny windowsill. Shake it every day. Bring it to my house in two weeks. We will pour it over noodles shaped like flowers and share our meal together.
