Dear Fredrick Douglass,
It’s 2024 and I would like you to know, we’re still writing. The people you stayed up thinking about while hunched over table organizing your protests and testimony; we wouldn’t dare let your speech, your fight, and your desperation be done in vane.
Despite the odds, the adversaries, and the obstacles, we’re smiling, pens in hand. Still in a furious battle. But you can rest now. You can rest, and we’re thankful.
With Love,
JaKala Finklea
