While I reside in Cayce, S.C., my community seems esoterically the metro Columbia, S.C. area. And as such, there seems to be a broader base. A bigger palette from which to paint the picture of the community, to which to contain the mindset for the betterment of us all.
I came to Columbia, S.C. to complete my B.A. in English. I loved the city and the vibe. Then, after living here around this area, I found that it is not perfect. But, then that is not a point that fractures the feelings for where I live. Columbia and the surrounding community would be served well with cooperation in areas such as clean rivers. With three rivers, such as the Broad, Saluda, and Congaree, the tremendous boon of these with adjacent areas with abundant wildlife, fish, and fowl, can be a way to not only bring tourism by its good stewardship. Providing jobs as well as helping our ecology. To our betterment and for our children’s lives and to come. The parks, such as Finley and such would be a start. The rivers nearby are paramount.
