Golden, sweet ears of corn butter running
down my arms
Rolling pastures from East to West is
a memory I love best
School is out for summer break, off
to the crab for a day’s work.
Plantations dotting the landscape
around memories of laboring sounds
Trees leaves transforming into reds, and
yellow awaiting spring to be born again.
Childhood friends there’s still a few
but most out neighbors are new
Grand dad working from sunrise to dusk
standing tall in God We Trust. Loving
arms I eagerly await.
A nickle is all I really needed, can I have 10¢ plse
Popsicle in hand and friends in tow we paid
our fare and off we go.
The Ferry seem so very slow, with wind
blowing gently thru our hair. Looking over
the rails I see jelly fish steering back
at me,
A fishing net I wish I had, to catch
that juicy blue crab! Trip has ended on
Bellviews Shore repeat this journey
once more returning me back from
whence I came.
