We have years behind us, but still we look ahead,
age has become the seasoning of our lives,
life tastes even better now.

The body doesn’t do all the things that used to do
so we make sure our steps safeguard our movements.
We live on.

Our minds have taken us places
our bodies could never go.
Our spirit is the very air we breathe.

Life is more precious now.
Relationships are more sacred.
We are that fine wine more potent with time.

There are good things that come with age.
There are revelations that make us see more clearly.

We’ve become familiar with a cycle,
we recognize each round a little better.
The youth in us has not died.
It’s that ray of light on an overcast day.
