Grantville is a very small community 	
at the southern tip of Coweta County.
Coweta county’s most prosperous town
Is Newnan.  (In the 1950s Newnan was
The #1 per capita town in the U.S. due
to 3 very prosperous mills).

     Grantville had a sock mill that saw
prosperity too.  The building it was housed
in now consists of one wall & has
only been used to film episodes of the
“Walking Dead” tv series. The town square
can be picturesque except most store
fronts are empty.  They have revived the
square into a park & recent have held a
BBQ Festival.

     If I had to improve the town –
there would be many more historic
markers, incentives for people to get out &
talk about its history & try to get
businesses back in town.  I read the
former sheriff bought a lot of the empty
buildings but isn’t doing anything.  The police
force was recently fired & no one knows who the
new ones are…in general leaders need to talk and plan.
