I have a garden that’s taken over my front yard. Every day, I walk outside to check on the plants—to see if the bees are buzzing, the birds have flown, or my favorite snake is sunning. Gardening started with my grandfather, who taught me how to dig deep holes, fill them with compost, and plant tomatoes. That year, we had a bumper crop. I’ve never grown tomatoes as good since. Nothing feels better than dirt on my hands and the taste of fresh tomatoes.

Prompt: What is something that you do every day that makes you feel good? This could be something you are naturally drawn to doing, or something you enforce even though you don’t necessarily love doing it. Why did you start doing it, and what impact has it had on your life? If you don’t have a daily practice, what is something you might want to start including in your day-to-day life?
