I grew up in a house with a former military father, and you know things like “putting a handle” on people’s names, speaking when you enter a room, and showing respect to others by only speaking when you are given permission to speak.
“Wash your hands when you come in from the outside”
“Don’t touch anything that does not belong to you”
“Put on your play clothes when you come in from school”
“Don’t eat other people’s food unless you know them, and I have given you permission to eat there”
“Always offer your guests something to drink by telling them what you have”
