Human Impact

Some people ask how humans are impacting the lives of squirrels or just animals in general. Well, I’m here to tell you two reasons why humans are impacting the lives of squirrels. One way takes place in South Carolina, and possibly other states. Fox squirrels are allowed to be hunted. This means the population could definitely go down and if they are endangered, they could be gone forever. One other way is by humans getting rid of fox squirrels’ homes/ cutting down forests. If humans keep cutting down forests, this means they could suffer from loss of habitat.

Creative Exploration

High up in the trees,
Seeing the hive of the bees,
I run down the bark on my paws,
Knowing I’m free from laws,
I search for bird eggs and meat,
Trying to find myself a treat,
I only live 3–4 years,
So I spend time with my forest peers,
Back up, I go into the trees,
Lovin’ this southern breeze.
