Sways in the wind, grows taller as time pasts, and becomes bald in winter.

Human Impact

Bald cypress trees are impacted by humans. Ways we impact these trees is by adding landfill to nearby areas with leachate infecting the groundwater and causing them to die. Humans also cut these trees down for materials and for room to build neighborhoods and new homes.

Creative Exploration

Sunlight gently caresses my feathery needles,
As the seasons turn, I grow taller, my roots sinking deep into the moist earth.
Energy flows through my frame, and the breeze sweeps past,
I am a home to millions of living souls.
In the golden days of autumn, my needles turn russet-brown, before drift gracefully to the ground.
Time flows on, and seeds are scattered upon the wind,
as the spring breeze whispers by, new life quietly arrives.
