Human Impact

Humans have many impacts on sundews. The use of sundew in certain medication has created conservation concerns for sundews, destruction of bogs removes the sundew habitats, nitrogen pollution gives sundews to much nutrients and reduces their ability to catch and eat prey making their prodigy have these same weaknesses, and finally poaching leaves sundews in risk due to their slow growth rate. We human effect these plants in many ways.

Fallen Rain Poem 
There was a girl who found the path to the sun 
But this is not about that girl 
No, this is about a path sprinkled with dew drops 
And the rain knocking on windows and doors 
Sunbeams smiling through the downpour 
With its dew-specked rays of hope 
But we cursed the days when rain knocked on our doors 
And dew fell over the tops of grasses 
We cursed the days when the rain dared to hope that it could charm it way into our hearts on cerise rays  
We cursed the days when rain tapped on our windows  
So the rain retreated to the ground 
Stuck on spikes of cerise  
But Helios was sympathetic 
It allowed the rain to shift to dew on its rays 
But the rain was still bitter 
It trapped any soul drawn to the sun’s sweetness 
It was turned to cursed beauty 
It was formed to trap others in the dream of hope 
It was turned to the dew that stains the sun’s fingertips 
It was turned to the sundew
