Habitat 
pine forests, parks, and even golf courses.  
 
Diet 
bird eggs, insects, acorns, and different kinds of nuts!

These animals act as ‘gardeners’ in the ecosystem. 
 
Behavior 
Normally solitary, but they share dens during the winter 

Human Impact

Fox squirrels can cause damage to residential property and over time humans could cause a decrease in the fox squirrel population due to the excessive amount of hunting them. 

Creative Exploration

The Fox squirrel paid the fee 
He went up the tree 
So he can finally be free 
And he could be on the team 
But the team would cut the steam 
That would be such a dream 
They could hit the scene  
But it was forest green  
And their orange sheen team 
But with there vigil keen  
It would not be scurry clean 
Orange sheen – Their orange coat 
Forest Green – Their habitat 
Vigil keen – Their temperament when they watch predators.
