Coreopsis Rosea

Biological Overview
Habitat
Moist areas near shorelines, wet sand along ponds, marshes; needs sunlight to thrive
Diet
The pink tickseed goes through photosynthesis to grow and get energy. Therefore, it gets energy from the sun.
Role in Ecosystem
The pink tickseed plays a role as a pollinator for bees and provides seeds that birds come and eat.
Behavior
The pink tickseed grows toward the sun. It grows from late spring to early fall and thrives in full sunlight.
Human Impact
When humans have farms, the runoff can harm pink tickseeds. The soil from the farms can become toxic for the flowers. Deforestation also causes harm to pink tickseeds. Another thing that causes harm to pink tickseeds is shoreline development. Shoreline development causes shorelines to increase. Any pink tickseeds that are near the shore will be completely submerged. This would cause the flowers to drown, making shoreline development harmful to pink tickseeds.
Creative Exploration
Pink and yellow,
Orange too,
Gentle colors shading you,
You’re sitting, bathing in the sun,
If you were a person you’d be fun,
A green stem,
A center of yellow,
You’re always attracting every fellow,
How the petals of this flower ,
Pop and shout,
Like something’s the matter,
Blooming and feeding off the sun,
Sorry to go but this poem is done.
