Green herons live around wooded ponds, wetlands, and reservoirs. Green herons quietly hang around those places.  

Diet  

The green heron sticks to eating small fish, amphibians, and insects   

Role in Ecosystem  

The green heron acts as a key control on fish and invertebrate populations  

Behavior  

The green heron are shy stalkers. They act patient and stay still by the water. 

Human Impact

The green heron has been significantly affected by humans, going down almost 51% between 1966 and 2019. They face threats from water pollution, and other trash in places. While they barley see humans from where they are, humans are affecting the forests and water.

The silent green heron,

Does not move at night, barely moves during the day,  
Is one of the only birds, with not a lot to say,
